The 36th Annual Kentucky Heritage Council Archaeology Conference will be hosted in partnership with Northern Kentucky University, and the Kentucky Organization of Professional Archaeologists. The conference will take place at the Landrum Academic Center on the campus of Northern Kentucky University (Building #12 on the map.) Those interested in presenting a paper or poster should send an abstract (100 words maximum) no later than January 30, 2019 to:

Please be sure to indicate your preferred presentation format with your abstract submission. Participants will be allocated 20 minutes per oral presentation. There will also be a designated time and space for poster presenters to discuss their projects with conference attendees.
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Hampton Inn and Suites Newport/Cincinnati, 275 Columbia Street in Newport. Please make sure to book your rooms as much in advance as possible. The discounted rate is only available until January 31, so book your rooms as soon as possible.
On Friday afternoon at 1:00 pm, there will be an opportunity to tour the James A. Ramage Civil War Museum for historical background, then drive to Devou Park to hike to Battery Bates and Coombs. The cost of the tour is $3.00 per person. A visit to the Behringer Crawford Museum in Devou Park is an option for an additional $9.00 per person. The Ramage Civil War Museum will be open and offers a book sale with over 1000 Civil War History books. Sales are cash or check only.
